Embracing Optimism – Part 1

Embracing OptimismEmbracing Optimism

Embracing optimism has huge benefits not only for your mind but also for your body and your spirit. You have one life; you can either view the glass as half-empty or half full. Even better, you can view it as being there waiting for us to fill it to the brim with positivity and optimism. The choice is yours. So, why consider adopting optimism and adding one more item to think about in your busy brains? Because it is exactly what your busy brain needs. Your brain needs help to creative a positive mindset in order to create a positive lifestyle. There is massive power in optimism.

The Power of Optimism

It’s easy to focus on all that does, can and will go wrong. Life isn’t perfect by any means. You live through your ups and downs; we all do. Admittedly, you can’t control every single circumstance; however, you can control how you handle those twists, turns, peaks and valleys. This is where the power of optimism comes into play.

There is so much power in embracing optimism. Being optimistic can make a journey, circumstance, or situation seem much more doable. While a situation such as a job loss, for example, is never a situation that feels good, tackling it with optimistic hope for something better is the power behind optimism.

You can choose to whine, moan, groan and complain the entire time you are out of work or you can choose to accept the situation as unfortunate and can use your energy to create a new, better reality for yourself. As an optimistic person, you can choose to view the loss of a job as a new career about to happen or a better job to come. While this optimistic attitude won’t change the situation or the circumstance, you can still choose how you navigate through it.

If you travel through an unfortunate circumstance with more optimism, you are apt to get through it with more ease and grace. The alternative is to endure the situation or circumstance with so much resistance, that you wear yourself out mentally, physically and emotionally.

A lack of optimism in life can result in loss of sleep, disconnection in relationships and a lack of enthusiasm when it counts most. Optimism benefits you in so many areas of your life; here are just a few:

  • Cultivating optimism benefits you in your emotional well-being
  • Being more optimistic benefits you in your education
  • Bringing optimism into the workplace benefits you in your career
  • Cultivating optimism brings harmony into your relationships
  • Having an optimistic outlook for the future benefits you in your finances
  • Cultivating optimism benefits you in your physical health
  • Optimism strengthens your faith
